Mobile LiDAR technology provides an efficient way of collecting and analyzing road census data. Our solution uses multiple high-resolution cameras and laser scanners capable of capturing up to 1.2 million data points per second.
The Mobile LiDAR system is mounted on a vehicle that drives along the road at normal traffic speeds. The LiDAR scanner rotates 360 degrees and captures millions of data points from every angle. The data is then combined with GPS data to create accurate 3D maps of the road, which can be used to generate measurements, statistics, and other useful information.
Utilizing 3D laser point cloud data from roads, professional maps are generated through the extraction of feature elements. This allows for the map vectorization of road point cloud data using both automated and semi-automated processes. The goal is to establish a digital twin foundation for roads, enabling the creation of high-precision maps, inventorying road components, aiding in road survey design and reconstruction, and facilitating air route planning and simulation. This approach addresses challenges such as data obstructions, wear and tear of marking lines, strength degradation, and uneven density.
